In 1999, when LLuís Pont left Sabadell for the first time in a caravan of 4x4 vehicles, nobody could dream what the trip would eventually lead to. On this trip, Lluis travelled with friends and relatives while also setting out to fulfill a personal commitment: to repay the people from southern Morocco, specifically a small group of Sudanese people in a town called Khamlia, for all the hospitality he received from them years ago.

In collaboration with his good friend Tayeb, as well as the rest of the Ettaiek brothers, all of whom have worked in the tourism sector since the eighties – they already had a small aubergue, and offered meals in “el Café Des Dunes de Arfoud” and guided excursions through the magical dunes of the Erg Chebbi – a new project was started, guided by their heart rather than a business view. As the project progressed, the friendship between Lluís and Tayeb grew stronger; Xaluca Group was growing to the point where it is today. Xaluca Group now offers a variety of accommodation options, a travel agency, XalucaTours, and a touristic transport agency, Arfoud Transports.

We want to thank you all, all of you who caught the enthusiasm of these two friends and decided to visit a neighboring country, guided by a sense of adventure, a desire to discover new places, and a will to experience something unforgettable ... You are our best ambassadors, preaching to the world about your experience, and you are the ones that facilitated making XalucaTours what it is today.
